Salvador Old Town

The Aram Yami Hotel features a stylish and intimate bar open to guests 24 hours a day. In addition, the views on offer of the cidade baixa de Salvador (Lower City) the Bay of All Saints full of ships and Itaparica Island, as well as the Senhor do Bonfim Church atop Holy Hill and Fort Sao Marcelo make the Aram Yami Hotel the perfect place for an unforgettable stay in Salvador. Finally, the quiet neighbourhood of Santo Antonio Alem do Carmo, boasting a rustic feel, was a symbol of modernity at the height of the Portuguese Colonial Period. The old walled city extended beyond the city doors, one of which was Porta do Carmo (Carmo Door) with this land eventually becoming part of the Santo Antonio Além do Carmo district. There visitors will find the Saint Anthony’s Fort and the Church of Saint Anthony, as well as the historic center Pelourinho, a short distance away. Boasting old mansions with Portuguese colonial architecture, this charming neighbourhood features small hotels and charming restaurants.
